Tea set for "Beetle´s House" (2010)

The tea set is created for Japanese architect Terunobu Fujimori´s Beetle´s House, a part of the exhibition 1:1 - Architects Built Small Spaces in Victoria & Albert Museum in London. Terunobu Fujimori’s Beetle´s House reminded me of the tree houses from my childhood in Denmark and the feeling of creating a private space that is your own. I have developed a technique of throwing pieces on the wheel then distorting the shape by adding pressure from the inside, until they almost collapse into bulky shapes. I try to capture the motion and softness of the clay. I want the tea set to reflect the movement of the liquid inside.

Size: height: 6-25 cm.
Materials: ceramics
